What trends in the field of education do you feel are the most important for the Germantown School District?

My answer to "What trends in the field of education do you feel are the most important for the Germantown School District?" from the Germantown Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum:

Of course, there is the idea of gamification and technology-related topics like blockchain and AI, but I tend to come back to soft skills training like entrepreneurship, public speaking, and leadership skills.

I see this one more in my current professional role, but I think it applies to the K-12 environment. We need to work on facilitating learning rather than just teaching. Part of that is helping to get people, students in our case, to start taking ownership in their learning experience.

I think the use of data to help guide decisions is something that we need to continue to improve upon. What kinds of things can we do to help students improve their learning?

Lastly, I think the role of the community can be greatly beneficial to our students so that they can get some real-world experience - which sometimes is the greatest learning experience they can have. We need to continue to expand our community partnerships.
