My Transparency: Over Four Years of Posts

In my post from March 3rd, I spoke about my belief that transparency from the district's perspective is paramount. Today's post is focused on my own personal transparency and the importance I place on sharing what my foundational beliefs are, where I may stand on various issues, and identifying what I believe are the most important things that our district faces.

I actually have two Facebook pages - one for my campaign and my board page. The campaign page was created on December 16, 2023. My board page was created on December 15, 2019 in preparation for my first run for the board in 2020. The reality, or policy, that I adopted right away back in 2019 was that if I were to ever serve on the Board, I can't escape criticism. I will listen to everyone and respect their viewpoint no matter how different they are to mine.

This website has been active and available for viewing since my first campaign run that began in 2019.

I have a personal policy of no deletion of Facebook posts. No hiding comments. I also have a personal policy of no blocking people. Even if they are attempting to, in effect, troll the page. I don't find it that difficult to recognize when it's happening and how to manage it.

I have no problem expanding on what my bullet point list means or represents. I'm prepared to speak to any of them as well as put them to text or video for everyone to see - I believe that I owe it to our district community to provide them details about me and my commitment - and when I have the opportunity to speak with people one-on-one or in a small group, be consistent with them. I take pride in trying to spend as much time as possible to read up on the various topics that are or may impact our district.

I make it a priority to be prepared for any vote that may be coming up in a committee meeting or board meeting. As important is my ability to explain the why. Why did I vote the way I did... what was my reasoning behind it. When interacting with district constituents, I firmly believe that it is tremendously important whether they agree with or disagree with what the Board may have done or what I did as an individual.

I know for a fact that what the district has done and what I have done over the last several years does show a high-level of transparency. The reason why I can confidently say that is because people who may disagree with what the board has done or a position that I have taken are using the video recordings or the written word as part of their argument on why they disagree.
