Beyond what currently occurs, do you have any additional ways the student voice can be incorporated into the Board process?

My answer to “Beyond what currently occurs, do you have any additional ways the student voice can be incorporated into the Board process?” from the Germantown Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum:

I would be open to a number of ideas:

Personally, I’d be willing to try to schedule recurring meetings with students who are interested as “listening sessions” focusing on topics that they choose.

Maybe it would be possible to somehow work in a visit to classes that may cover government-related topics as a guest speaker or have a Q&A session.

Possibly more difficult… I would propose trying to figure out how the board may be able to schedule a meeting at such a time that could work for many of our students to attend. There certainly could be challenges, but if it's possible, we should entertain it.

Students are always welcome to provide public comment during our meetings and/or email the board with any topics or concerns that they have.
